A suspension bridge hangs dangerously on the road to La Furtuna, where Arenal Volcano awaits us.

The "beat" goes on.....

Tired of the drive we checked into our pad, which overlooked this valley.

ARENAL VOLCANO

This is as clear as the weather got while we were there, here you can see plumes of volcanic gas.

This is an original that was given to me by a good friend, This was in 2002 when one night Arenal went lava crazy.

Our back door view, the cabins are all on the foothills of the Volcano. The place we stayed at was called Los lagos.

We arrive at Arenal and get settled in.

This was the view from our cabin, if you look really close you can see the smoke trails from the lava rocks making theu way down the side of the volcano.

The guys fell in love with the food, specially the gallo pinto, yes we were chaising our breakfast down with beer, IM ON VACATION!!!

Im ready to roll, yeee haww.

We arrived at the stable where the guide would take us on a 2 hr trip around Arenal.

Our 2 hr trek begins.

At night if you have the testes to come up here in the dark ( we did) you can look out and actually see and hear the lava rocks tumble down from the crater up above.

Joe was the only one smart enough to wear proper attire, who the heck wears shorts and flip flops when they ride a horse?

We rode to the Arenal observatory.

yeah Joe we know...thats you 5th one.

The hot springs coming from Arenal Volcano keep the water temp at about 90 degrees inside the pool, and of course the swim up bar on the right was a favorite as well.
